FIFA World Cup 2022
Teams, schedule, and match-ups
FIFA World Cup 2022 is the most prestigious football tournament in which each team plays five matches over eight days with a total of 144 games played. The starting point for all games in international football is usually at 8 am (GMT), although some tournaments have an earlier start. However, because of technical difficulties, many games are postponed. All teams play at their home stadiums except Japan, which is hosting as part of the Asian Zone, alongside South Korea. Each game lasts two hours, and the top four teams qualify automatically for the semi-finals and the final in Qatar. There are also 10 third-placed playoff rounds that give teams extra time but do not guarantee qualification. In addition, there are 16 second-placed playoff rounds that end on Sunday night (GMT+8) with either penalty or a goal scored against them. Matches for fourth place are played between the 1st and 2nd place finishers. There is promotion and relegation where the winner of the tie moves up into the next tier (tier 4), while the loser moves down a tier (tier 3). Some countries host multiple events, such as China and India, having hosted the men’s World Cup semi-finals, as well as the 2015 Women’s Euro.

Then came Carlos Soler’s penalty. The match finished 1–1.
FIFA World Cup Semi-finals
Japan advanced to its first-ever major final when winning a thrilling contest against Spain with goals in the last minute from Osaka Shibata and Taro Fukazawa and a last-gasp effort from Merinos Ioane.
